Shannan Ricoy, PA-C

Shannan Ricoy earned her Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the New York Institute of Technology in 2003. Subsequently, she completed her Master of Science, focusing on Education in Leadership, at A.T. Stills University in 2009. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Cumberlands, specializing in Leadership Studies with a Concentration in Health Professions Management.

Since her graduation, Ms. Ricoy has established herself as an esteemed leader in the field of Physician Assistants, showcasing a strong dedication to education and patient-centered outcomes. She holds the position of Assistant Professor and serves as the Clinical Director for the Hofstra Northwell School of Physician Assistant Studies. Additionally, Ms. Ricoy serves as the Chair of the Elections Committee for the New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA) and actively participates in professional organizations such as the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA). She is also a member of the interview board for the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing & Physician Assistant Studies and the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine.

Ms. Ricoy's professional training encompasses Family Medicine and Neurology, with her primary expertise lying in the diagnosis and management of headache disorders, including the administration of Botox for Chronic Migraines. Her medical approach emphasizes the interconnectedness of the body's various systems, promotes healthy lifestyles and self-care, educates patients about their illnesses, and empowers them to make informed medical and non-medical decisions regarding their health. Ms. Ricoy places a strong emphasis on ensuring each patient feels at ease during their office visits, fostering a collaborative and individualized treatment plan tailored to their unique needs.

Outside of her professional commitments, Ms. Ricoy relishes quality time with her three children, as well as with her family and friends. She actively engages in the Scouting community and has a deep passion for outdoor activities, particularly hiking, camping, and archery.
